John W. Gibbs, CEO
Mr. Gibbs has more than 35 years of design, construction and industrial managerial experience. Mr. Gibbs is a certified professional engineer in the state of Florida. His specialties include streetscape, parks and recreation, lift stations and drainage improvements. Mr. Gibbs started the company in 1990 and has been very successful in growing G&R into a very successful contractor.
Ted Ferguson, President
Mr. Ferguson carries with him more than 25 years of design and construction industry technical and managerial experience across numerous market sectors including: transportation, utilities, tunnels, wastewater, and dams. Mr. Ferguson’s primary focus has been in project management and operations. Mr. Ferguson has recently been promoted to President of Gibbs & Register, Inc. and has been instrumental in leading the operations of G&R during the last four years.
Joanne Register, CFO
Ms. Register has 25 years of experience in the roofing and construction industry. She has vast experience in job cost accounting. Ms. Register has intricate hands-on knowledge of the construction industry from both field and office perspective. She formed a Bahamian company in July 2002 to perform a $1.3 million project for Four Seasons Resort.
Gary Register, Vice President
Mr. Register has over 30 years of experience in the roofing and construction industry. He is certified in the State of Florida as a General Contractor and Roofing Contractor. His expertise includes project management, estimating, and working with owners/owner’s representatives to develop the right roofing system for their facility. Mr. Register’s presence is well known throughout the roofing industry. He is the immediate past (2007) President of The Florida Roofing & Sheet Metal Association.
Doug Thomas, Vice President
Mr. Thomas takes great pride in delivering exceptional quality work. He began at Gibbs & Register as an equipment operator and worked his way up to Vice President of Field Operations. He has over 15 of years supervisory experience and is proficient at training and motivating employees. His vast experience and strong ethics are great assets to Gibbs & Register and our clients.
Joel Covitz, Pre-Construction Services Manager
Mr. Covitz has served as Engineer/Project Manager on numerous projects. He has ten years of construction experience managing civil construction projects. He also has more than 14 years of design and construction industry technical and managerial experience across numerous market sectors including: water, sewer, drainage improvements, roadways, bridge rehabilitation and new construction. Mr. Covitz currently leads our Estimating Department and Pre-Construction Services.
